So, you’re driving down route 66 thinking it’s nothing but old gas stations and diners until you happen upon this creepy old gas station. That’s how my cousin and I found the Grand Canyon Caverns. We were tripping around Arizona just driving and needed gas, this was the only place around (not sure they still sell gas as this was years ago).
I didn’t really want to get out of the car but I had to “use the facilities”. There was a feeling of static in the air and I felt like someone was watching me. I looked around, no one, only the random car passing on the highway.
To me, this episode was awesome. I felt as though the guys weren’t desecrating native land and were genuinely interested. I know, the land has already been desecrated and it would have been nice if there was something saying the skull was plastic but….
I have been inside the caverns, if you are a paranormal investigator and get the chance, go!! This, as Zak pointed out is THE best environment to capture activity. At 210 feet (a few places farther, like 310) there is nothing there, the air is dry (bring lots of water), it smells like faded salt water (back in the day), and you will get out of breath climbing the ramps so take many practice hikes before.
There is only one way in and one way out so I advise if you are claustrophobic do not attempt this, the elevator does not move fast.
I have to say, yet again Zak’s expressions are priceless. You would think he’d just gotten into the elevator with the clown from IT.
I will elaborate on what Jay talked about, Selenite: Selenite is hydrated calcium sulfate, a type of gypsum. An extremely common material that forms in sedimentary environments-around hot springs, for example. It is found in massive beds, usually crystallized out of highly saline water. Selenite is the colorless and transparent form of gypsum. It has a pearl like sheen and a glow like moonlight.
Personal Uses: Place Selenite in the home or meditation space to clear the energy
Healing Effects: Place a Selenite blade over the crown of the head to open the crown chakra. If you are not experienced in crystal healing do this only for a few moments and ground the body by placing a piece of smoky quartz between the feet.
Physical/Emotional Uses: Is a conductor of energy, and its cleansing effects can be strongly felt on the system. Allows the flow of high frequency energy to permeate all chakra centers, aligning the spiritual purpose. Resonates powerfully with the crown chakra, enabling enhanced awareness of enlightenment.
(taken from the book Crystals by Jennie Harding)
So it would enhance the Crown Chakra not the 3rd eye and be used for enlightenment. Makes one wonder if the caverns were used as some sort of spiritual center by the natives.
Visitors have experienced voices, moans, seeing a native woman, and rocks being thrown.
Aaron and Billy- Aaron reported feeling uneasy about being in close proximity to the area where the native bodies had been found.
Jay- Hotel area, reported a rock being thrown at him. You can hear it skip on the walkway.
Zak- reportedly saw a mist move across the terrace in front of him
Aaron- Reported that his heart rate was fluctuating. This could be due to the large amounts of dry air, Selenite and all the hiking.
Billy- Reported hearing the chain link fence move as if someone had shaken it.
There is something strange on the photo when Zak plays back the part where he was taking photos. Standing above them in the rocks, there is a shadow. Like watching them.
The caverns remain a steady 56 degrees year round with no air flow so when the crew say they were feeling cold spots, that would be something to really check. Also captured, a yellow ball of light. Nothing grows in the caverns so it wasn’t a bug. They had a rock thrown at them. Found in an area of the walkway they had just traversed and it wasn’t there.
Jay and Billy tried, to no avail the new piece of equipment, The Lithium Battery Test, got no takers.
In the Bunkhouse:
Arron and Zak took on the Bunkhouse. Zak debunked the red light he saw as being the flashing light from a nearby radio tower. They got squat from the SB7 and zero EVPs. As Zak sat on the sofa he reported feeling ice cold on his left side, pressure on his left arm, and a ball of light exited his left leg.
Aaron’s Vlog for Grand Canyon Caverns
All and All it was an interesting episode. Next week, October 10- Haunted Hollywood, The guys head to Griffith Observatory to see just how haunted the Hollywood hills really are. The guys capture compelling visual evidence of a spirit walking below the letters of the iconic Hollywood sign.
Video Preview, watch until the end.
Ok, this one was another weird one. I actually smelt the smell of fresh dirt, in my house at 9pm. And I MUST say, This episode pointed out that not all spirits speak English!! Gawd I love when I get even semi proven right. Sure, Sure they may understand English but it not being their native language they would reply in the language they are most comfortable, Thank you GA for showing that.
Growing up in California you hear stories of all sorts of old haunted places, Los Coches was one I had heard about while up in the Salinas area years ago. I admit, I drove by the place…..during the day. Because knowing there is tons of gang activity in that area I’m not going anywhere after dark. I did a drive by, sat in front (not getting out of the car either). It was creepy to say the least.
This was the episode where you might find Jay has dabbled in a little more of the paranormal then maybe just using a Ouija.
First, driving Old Stage Rd damn boys I would have at least called 911. That sure did look like a body on the thermal and it showing a heat signature, the person may have still been alive. The cow was hilarious, I don’t think Zak had ever seen a live cow roaming free LOL Sorry Zak, your expression/reaction was just hilarious.
You can read about the Salinas ghost stories here http://www.beachcalifornia.com/salinas-ghost-stories.html
The investigation of Los Coches Adobe:
Zak captured a hair like item and a mist. That was semi weird. Voices, wood being thrown/moved above he and Aaron.
Aaron saw a shadow standing at the end of the hall. Something ran at him.
With the SB7: The word “Rapido” and either “Get Out” or “ahora” which in Spanish means, now.
They debunked their own shadows. Billy captured a female voice. There was a second “rapido” which sure sounded like the same voice as the first.
They also captured a male voice, could not make out what it was saying, it also sounded as if it were in Spanish.
The SLS Camera captured multiple figures standing on the wall, Zak reported that his hand felt tingly.
The new piece of equipment was a 4 Quad Energy Meter, it looked like a more awesome Simon toy.
If a spirit were to touch it, it would change colors. Awesome Bill Chappel. Still waiting for you to create the magnetic floor 😉
I think in this episode Jay demonstrated what one should do if they felt as if they might be being either attacked (something trying to attach) or losing control of the situation. Find somewhere to sit down and center yourself. Inside a salt box with some black onyx is better but if you don’t have either just sit still and do not invite.
Now, I can’t say what Jay may have been thinking but it looked as if he had sat down and just zoned out. He had experienced a feeling that the walls were moving farther away. If you remember both Zak and Aaron had the opposite, that the walls were moving in. The whisper captured sounded an awful lot like “que” which means what in Spanish.
Jay also captured loud noises, footsteps. Had I been there I would have, just by his reaction known something was at least trying to attach to him.
Over all this episode is showing this team is actually trying to capture real evidence of the paranormal, next on Bill Chappell’s new equipment list should be that 3D ghost camera in that ad for the next Paranormal Activity movie which ran during the show. Be real, if you had that camera and could actually see what was touching you, would you be terrified? Would it make spirits something real to be respected? Would you feel for all the times you desecrated burial sites? Seeing is believing after all, right.
I’ve been to Manresa Castle, always a very interesting stay. With this episode I was hoping the crew mentioned the child, a little girl that has been seen/heard there.
On my first stay I saw both, the tail of a long victorian woman’s coat and the little girl. I also heard the little girl giggle several times. I also have heard doors open and close, noises and other voices (like a group of people having a conversation).
This episode was interesting because if you have watched since there is a bit of a change in several members and Jay seems to be showing he has quite the knowledge of things paranormal, not just about Ouija either.
So, the areas visitors tend to experience things are 310, 306, The Breakfast Room and several times a woman seen at a window. Not to mention the noises, voices and other possible paranormal things that go on.
First up, during the initial interview. A door popped open, Aaron heard a click while investigating if it was a draft. While holding up a napkin to the door it closed, right in Aaron’s face. They also captured an EVP which said “Help Her” and that had been heard by visitors before.
During the actual investigation:
The Breakfast Room, they got zero until they were wrapping up when a chair tipped over. All tries to debunk fell on deaf ears as there was no visible way the camera unit could have touched said chair.
SLS Camera (which I love because it makes stick people): Captured Anomalies Detected as Aaron walked down the hall. There was at this time a high pitched squeak, like a door opening or closing and two load bangs in the basement.
In the Dungeon: Aaron saw someone (the height of a child) peering at him from under he stairs. There were footsteps in the hallway and a child’s cry or giggle.
Billy was alone in the basement and captured an EVP which said, “Something is here”
As Aaron made his way to the attic, Zak and Jay heard as though someone was rolling up plastic.
The SB7 captured a male voice saying “Natalie” The little girl’s name?
Zak in the laundry room captured an EVP “get off that table”. Maybe the table was part of the kitchen at one time and the spirit thinks laundry should not be done on it?
Aaron captured, on the 3rd floor an EVP- “stay out”. It would seem the spirits do not like the living trapping through the house. Aaron also had the feeling of ice cold, his arm hair went up and in an EVP volley he captured, “trouble”, “enter”, and a Whoa which copied his which did not come through the SB7.
Once the guys retired to separate rooms:
Zak captured a light tapping sound coming from the area of the closet.
Billy captured an orb coming out of the table. But Aaron had the best of all.
Aaron was sitting in his room, you can see he’s trying to relax a bit when suddenly the telephone rings. Personally I would have answered it but Aaron did not. He called for the guys. Now, the strange thing about this (I’ve stayed there so I know this) You can not cold call rooms. The call must go through the hotel operator and be connected to the room. That was awesome!
The piece of new equipment captured a profile? There was a forehead, eye brow bone and nose that could be made out, so interesting.
I have been catching up on the current season of Ghost Adventures so I will be blogging about them soon and be ready because they will be sure to……bite.
Also, a question was asked. “Have you ever actually met Zak”
Answer: No, I have had opportunities to meet him but there is all sorts of craziness around him (and the guys) so I usually just stand in back and watch. Some day I will run across him, take a photo, have him sign my copy of his books, hopefully get to discuss the paranormal (with him and the guys in a round table would be awesome sauce). But as of now I have kept a distance and just watched. Do I think there is something to his claims of being an empath? Maybe, I would have to as said before, shake his hand, although there is something going on because his energy…..it’s like walking into static. You know, when you run your feet on carpet then touch something. The static is Zak and his immediate area, I’ve tried to stay out of that area. 🙂
Someone also asked why I don’t blog about Ghost Hunters. Well, short answer is. They usually turn their stuff over to SyFy for editing. Zak keeps his and edits with Devin. Sure ok, some might say Zak has the better advantage to fake stuff BUT, in my opinion once the video/evp whatever leaves your hands you don’t really know what is going on with it. Not saying GH is faked but GA has gotten far more viable hits than GH ever has AND GH is out to debunk everything, they have never admitted that what was captured could actually be paranormal (I could have missed a few episodes but I doubt it’s ever happened).
Who would I rather lock down with?
Ghost Adventures. Not that Ghost Hunters wouldn’t be fun I just think I personally would have a better experience with GA and the ability to utilize more, They don’t naysay the old fashioned way of doing things.
